Perq—SaaS Application to Manage Paid Time Off (circa 2009)
My greatest technical achievement is single-handedly writing the code for Perq—http://perqworks.com.Perq is a PHP5 application written with the Symfony Framework, using Doctrine ORM, and jQuery. Perq uses the PayPal API to collect credit card based recurring payments.
I chose the platforms, wrote the applications, and configured the infrastructure.
Perq has taught me that I can code anything.
Corporate Website Redesign (circa 2008)
SimplePhoto hired me as a UI Consultant to redesign their corporate website (the site has been redesigned since my engagement). The design goal was to increase new member sign ups—the design increased sign ups by 23% by clearly explaining the product’s value and simplifying the sign up process.I hand coded the entire site in XHTML, CSS, and Javascript.
Portal Redesigned (circa 2007)
I designed the user interface for the myEarthLink portal (with EarthLink's downsizing, the new portal project was canceled, this link displays the old portal). To see the design process I went through, click the links below.Screen Shots

eDOPT™ Online Application for the International Adoption Industry (circa 2005)
The goal of this redesign was to simplify the user interface by reducing the number to UI patterns, hiding non-critical controls, organizing data in 'at-a-glance' layouts, and differentiating new/old data.| New Main Menu Show Design Notes › | Original Main Menu |

Amrex.org Web Site (circa 2005)—Redesigned to Improve Search Engines (Google) Results
After thinking and discussing how Google ranks search results in 2005 the idea of &lsqou;stickiness&rsqou; developed. Stickiness is the idea visitors will stay longer on pages with higher relevance. For example, a page viewed for two or three minutes is more relevant than a page a visitor navigates away in ten seconds. We debated how (and if) Google could track time spent on each page. I believed Google could collect this data through traceroutes, server log files, and the Google browser plugins.| New Amrex Web Site Show Design Notes › | Original Amrex Web Site |

Rewrote Autotrader.com Search Form (circa 2006)
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/index.jspAs a Front-end Engineer, I collaborated with an Information Architect to re-design the Autotrader.com search form. We introduced keyword searching and choose search options based on user personas. Once the design was completed, I wrote the XHTML, CSS, and Javascript from scratch. In the spirit of “semantic” code, I used <fieldsets>, <legend>, and <label> tags.
